The biography explains the combination: a semi-professional clarinettist who still plays with orchestras and chamber groups, has written arrangements performed by the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker, and in the house’s staged Christmas Oratorio appeared as an on-stage instrumentalist playing clarinet obbligati — including one in his own arrangement — as well as singing.
